Michelle is optimistic that Oak Bay can meet the challenges of rebuilding our aging infrastructure, and striving for a more sustainable, inclusive city, by engaging the community in the process.

As an Oak Bay Councillor, Michelle is a liaison to Greater Victoria School District 61, District of Oak Bay representative to the Greater Victoria Labour Relations Association, and the Provincial Court – Family Court Committee.

Michelle has been a strong advocate for an Active School Travel Planning Program for the Oak Bay, and the Capital Regional District. She planned and organized a very successful stakeholders workshop with HASTe BC – Hub for Active School Travel, and has since brought most of the Capital Region municipalities on board with an initiative aiming to get more kids walking and cycling to school.

Michelle grew up in the small town of Windermere, BC in the beautiful Columbia Valley. Michelle was a Rotary Youth Exchange Student in Belgium for a year where she became fluent in French, and expanded her horizons. Her travels inspired her BA in International Relations from UBC Okanagan.

Michelle and her husband Len live in North Oak Bay with their two school-aged children. When not working as Oak Bay Councillor or Webmaster at the CRA, you’ll likely find her with her family, walking her Golden Retriever, George, or riding around town on her prized Pashley Princess bicycle.
